Winter months are ideal for wedge practice

It may be obvious to those of you that are all year-round golfers, but the 7-iron chip and run shot doesn’t work so well in the winter. Indeed, in wetter conditions, it’s more a case of chip and splat without the roll!

So, when you join us at the range at World of Golf London in the autumn months, I recommend you spend time hitting your wedges from 20 to 100 yards. This is because, during this winter months, it’s this kind of shot, rather than the chip and run, that you will be playing more often out on the course.

Wedge practice is great value at the range

A massive practice advantage at World of Golf London is that you pay for time in the bay, not the number of balls you hit. So, you can hit as many golf balls as you wish.

If you were paying per ball, then you may feel slightly disinclined to hit 40 of your valuable golf balls such a short distance. You can easily hit 40 wedge shots in 20 mins and leave yourself time for the longer irons too. Plus, as wedge shots take less effort you can hit more of them without exhausting yourself. This seems to me to be a win-win situation.

So, get wedging when you are next with us.
