The ‘must get’ stocking present for all golfers
Though winter is now upon us, hopefully you can still pop up to the range to keep your golf swing going through these dark months.
The best golf book I have ever read
When you’re not at the range and if you are partial to a good golfing read, then let me give you a recommendation: the best little golf book I have ever read. If you read it too, I can almost guarantee it will reduce your handicap next year. It will also increase your enjoyment of our wonderful game.
The title sums up what we all must realise about the game to get the best out of it. Golf is not a game of perfect. It is so true. Although striving for perfection in both technique and score is admirable, if you can accept that it is unachievable you will relax and enjoy the game more. This book is written by the esteemed sports psychologist and mind coach to the stars, Bob Rotella. It is also the easiest book ever written to read. A series of short, three page long chapters, all of which cover different aspects of the mental game.
I made all the mistakes that Bob describes
I read this book and found myself thinking that I made just about every mistake that Bob Rotella was describing. With this realisation I then went out the following year and played better golf than ever before. More importantly, I had a whole lot more fun with the game, which of course also translated into playing better golf too. A win win.
After the success of this first book, the publishers convinced Bob to write more books. To be honest, I think he put all his best work into this first novel and so I would just stick with this on.
Get it on your Christmas list now.
