How to be smarter on the range to prevent injury!
This month we feature some more helpful tips from our resident physiotherapist at World of Golf London, Pat Gilham
- – Warm-up before you hit.
- – Avoid large spikes in the number of balls you hit per practice or the time you hit for. Be gradual week after week. Start with 50-80 balls or 30-45min, and build each week.
- – Don’t start your session with your longer clubs. Hit 10 shots each with your lower clubs before progressing. Then play as if you were on the course – one shot with your Driver followed by 1 shot with your wedge etc.
- – Working on your strength and power in the gym for 2-3x per week will significantly reduce your risk of injury.
- – If you haven’t done so already, seek the help of a swing coach to help iron out any swing faults.
