Group coaching to improve your game

During my 40 plus year career I have delivered coaching both 1:1 and in groups. I honestly believe that the better way to learn is to come to a group class. This is especially true for those new to the game. By and large they have more faults to work on. When they receive individual coaching, there is a danger that they try to take on board too much information in one go. I also find that the newer golfer can be quite intimidated by 1:1. There is nowhere to hide when things are not going well. That applies to the coach too.

More comfortable for everyone

When I tried, for example, to change someone’s grip, this would often be very difficult for the customer to deal with. They would feel uncomfortable, certainly to begin with, and shots would deteriorate. In these situations, the best bet is for the student to persevere. But under the watchful gaze of the professional, this is not easy. With the group classes, the golf tutor can move away from the student to work with someone else, whilst, from a distance, keeping an eye on how the first learner is progressing. This is much more comfortable for everyone. Moreover, the student is more likely to keep working on the adjustment that they have been taught.

World of Golf London ‘Improvers’ classes are open to all. They are best suited to players who are relatively new to the game and particularly new to golf coaching. Classes take place weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends and offer incredible value. The cost is just £12 for 6 x 1 hour group lessons. No, not £12 per lesson, that is £12 for the 6 lessons, so in effect £2 an hour.  That must be the best offer in the industry!
