Being fitter and stronger means better golf!
There’s a reason why the majority of touring professionals now work very hard on their gym fitness – it leads to significant performance improvements!
It’s simple – the more force you can produce and the quicker you can produce it, the further and more accurate you can hit the ball. For every 1mph of clubhead speed you can produce, this equates to 3 more yards of distance.
The spine absorbs up to 750kg of force when hitting the golf ball. The stronger you are, the better your body is at coping with these forces, and therefore the less chance there is of injury.
I’m offering a free 30-min injury assessment to any golfers if they want some advice. Simply email me here: pat.gillham@drivingperfgolf.co.uk
